Fight Breaks Out at Northwestern Academy

Kids these days are just really getting out of hand. Why is there so much fighting going on in the schools. Kids of all ages bringing guns, knives, and whatever else to school, and for what? This fight at the Northwest Academy that was supposed to have taken place in the lunchroom, and now there is a question if that is where it was at. Then you have the police departments from all over the county come up in there with taser guns pulled just itching at the chance to shoot someone with it. I feel sorry for these kids that were in the lunchroom (if that is where it really happened) trying to eat their lunch before going to class and then have to worry about if they were going to be shot with the taser gun, just being in the wrong place at the wrong time. The more I hear about what is going on in the schools these days, the more I think it would be a good idea to home school. I don't feel qualified to teach but I know my kids would probably be a lot safer. Things can happen anywhere, but when I was growing up we sure didn't have to worry about the things kids do today.

I can agree with you on that one because these kids these days are kind of getting out of hand. I think that parents at home aren't doing a good job on how to teach their kids how to be a good child and teaching them from right from wrong. Kids these days go to school and play, be bully and pick on kids because they are bord and thats how a lot of kids go back and get a gun or something because they are being pushed to the edge of being picked on by someone. Many schools needs more security or policeman now these days. For an example, every hallway should have a police officer in it incase they hear any jokes or anything like someone talking about someone's mama. I think that would help alot of schools out by just sending over police officers from time to time.

I am just glad that I never went to that school, when I used to fight in school it wasn’t with knives or guns I fought with my hands and feet slamming anyone that was in my down to the ground. I’m not condoning violence, even though I love violence. I’m just saying that they shouldn’t use knives and such. I think the cops had ever right to bring their tasers it sounds like a very volatile situation. This world is getting really bad and these schools are getting really bad. I went to Carman Ainsworth and I thank god I graduated last year cause things were getting really rough and bad. There was a fight ever day, we had gang wars at my school

I remember when I was in high school, or even younger. We use to have arguments or disagreements and still be friends with whoever we got into it with. It’s a lot of peer pressure going on these days everybody is trying to be in the end crowd. If everybody learn to just stay in their own business and do what’s right everything would go smoother. Kids these days don’t realize the importantance of school and all of that bull crap out of school doesn’t matter. People always want to say it starts at home. It doesn’t matter how well your parents are once the kids are around other students its all over. A lot of them become followers.

In my high school I never felt threatened like anyone was going to bring a gun or anything to school. I live in a small town where there are less than 800 kids in the entire school. We do not live in a crappy town like flint where there are “gangs” and what not.

I think if they put more money into the security into the flint school they would have a better chance of making it a safer place. I no this is not easy because the schools are all losing money so fast but what else can you do to make the kids and their families feel safe.

believe it or not the percentage of school violence has dropped over the last thirty years. Yeah there have been some shootings and big fights but for the most part it is not as violent as it used to be. Back in the 70's kid weren't worried about college or what they were going to do after they graduate. they could graduate and get a job right out of high school. but now kids have to worry about all of that. I know i wanted to fight kids in school but never did because i didnt want it to affect my future. I didnt want my grades to slip and i didnt want the reputation of being a bad kid.

This is just getting old. I mean every time I turn the TV on, I hear about a shooting or fighting at schools, or even some kid bring fireworks to school, knives…etc. but my question is, is it ever going to end? When things like that happen at schools where kids are, that will just teach the little kids to be more violent. And actually that might be the cause for having more terrible future for those kids. Think about it, things like that happen right now, how is going to be in the future? When more kids learn to be more violent from all the things that are going on right now and have an easy access to more weapons!
