One kid is a hero in a rolling bus incident Empty One kid is a hero in a rolling bus incident

In cleveland Ohio, one fast acting child grabbed the wheel of a rolling bus today. The bus started to roll away beacuse it was stopped (doesnt really say it was parked) on a hill. The bus driver was filling up with gas and taking a bathroom break and the bus started to roll away. The bus was carrying 27 students, 15 of the students left with only minor injuries. The manager of the gas station banged on the bathroom door to try to get the drivers attention. The one kid steered the bus into a pilliar where it crashed. He is considered to be a hero. This is a great story of one heroic kid. He saved alot of lives cause there was traffic and the bus started to roll in the busy street. Its stories like this that show how brave and couragous some kids can be.... I think that kid should get a metal or some kind of reward for his actions. One thing that still puzzles me is why the driver would leave the bus on a hill? It makes no sense to me. Its still unknown as to why the bus started rolling. So who knows?? I sure dont, its a mystery.....

What in the world is the bus driver doing with the kids at the gas station with him? I didn't think bus drivers did that with kids on the bus. But I suppose this time was good for him. Because if I were those kids I would have been scared crazy. Why would the bus driver leave the bus on a hill without the emergency brakes on? Especially with kids on the bus. It's a good thing that young man did that because it could have been much worser than fifteen kids with minor injuries. What was even wors was it was rolling in to traffic. He was a brave kid.

This is such a scary incident and I agree with you that this kid should get some kind of a reward for what he has done. He saved many lives. I wonder why they were at that gas station. Was not there another adult on the bus? I do not think that the driver should have left the kids by themselves, that’s first and second he should make sure that the kids are safe before he actually leave them to go on his bathroom break. I am glad it ended with only minor injuries and nothing serious, these kids have a future ahead of them.

My question is does the driver still have a job. People say I am crazy to not let my kids ride the bus, I drive them to school. It is people like this that make me want to go out of my way and take them to shcool myself. What was she thinking. Did she forget she had students on the bus. Whatever happened to getting gas at the bus garage. They are very lucky that there was no one seriously injured. That little boy must have been scared to death when he seen the big column coming at him before they hit it. If the driver still has her job she needs to start wearing Depends so she won't have to leave the bus unattended anymore.

Sounds like that bus driver could come into some trouble with everything he did wrong in the incident. I guess I can understand having to use the bathroom and having to refuel the bus, but those both sound like things you could do before starting the bus route. Not having his license registered with Ohio could cause some problems for him as well. Good thing there was one quick thinking kid that stepped up and saved the others from more serious injuries or possible death. I can’t believe some of the kids bailed when the bus started moving, though. The bus driver could have been in worse trouble if any of the kids had been killed.
