Cops: 3rd-graders aimed to hurt teacher

I heard this news story on the radio today and was pretty shocked about it, so I found a story link on Yahoo News further explaining it. The current report is that several 3rd-graders planned on attacking their teacher, bringing things such as steak knives and handcuffs to school with them. The reason for their planned attack was that they were angry at the teacher because she scolded one of them for standing on a chair. I’m not sure what to make of this, I can’t imagine anyone, much less a 3rd-grader, wanting to hurt a teacher. It’s uncertain right now if the students’ plan was to hurt the teacher or to kill her but either way it’s crazy to think what they were planning to do with the weapons they brought to school. The report claims that the teacher taught children with learning disabilities, but doesn’t mention any mental problems that may cause them to want to harm their teacher. I’m not even sure what you can do to punish the students. Legally they can’t be charged with a crime at their age, but right now parents are calling for the immediate expulsion of the students and I can’t blame them for that. I’d feel unsafe to have a child in that kind of environment.

I can not believe that these kids went to school with plans on hurting their teacher. Do their parents not communicate with them to know what is going on in their mind? When I was in third grade all I thought about was getting an A on my spelling test. Where are they coming up with these ideas at such a young age? If they are bringing steak knives to school in third grade what will they bring in high school if they make it? If they are standing on chairs at school then they are probably doing the same thing at home and getting away with it.

I was watching the Good Morning America when I heard that some 3rd graders brought weapons to school to harm the teacher. I kind of laughed when I heard that, but I know that's serious because someone could have gotten hurt. I don't know how they found out about the kids having the weapons, but I'm glad they did. I have a son that will be in 3rd grade next year. I could never imagine him wanting to hurt a teacher. You just don't don't think of stuff like that. I know there has been times when a kid brought a weapon to school. But in this case a group of kids got together on attempting to hurt a teacher not only that there 3rd graders. What is wrong with the kids today? When I was a kid and I did something wrong, the teacher was aloud to paddle you. And when I got home the parents dealt with me. Now days it's the other way around some kids are threatening teachers if not harming them. And some of the parent's are holding the kid for their wrong doing by clowing with the teacher, instead of disciplining the child. Something needs to be done.

WOW!!! cant believe it normally kids dont get that way until they get in the 6th or 7th grade. One of them must have had a mental disability that would cause it. Sounds like one of them could have early signs of what Charles Manson was able to do, you know one kid that could be so convincing that he can get the other kids to do anything. Even murder, but I dont know.... Wow still cant believe something like this would happen. Crazy story. They should expell the kids. They cant charge them until their 7, but they might charge the parents for something. There might be charges along down the line in life for these kids for future crimes.

You have to pay alot of attention to some of this stuff going on in school. I think all schools should have camera's in their classrooms for some of these principles can know whats going on in these classrooms. You may never know if that teacher scold that 3rd grader or not because some students can lie to just get that teacher fired or something because they don't like them. If one of those students did get scolded, that teacher probably got pushed to the limit and just couldn't help it or snapped! Things like that could happened because these kids these days are bad, but for the parents best, they need to check their childrens rooms and see what kind of things they got up their sleeves, or ask them questions about what went on in school today, what you learn, on a everyday basics and probably some of those problems would be solved.

Nowadays people should really pay attention to others around them and to be extra careful! As much as those stories scare me as much as I feel bad about it. It got to a point where everyday we hear such stories, and this especially is a very dangerous case. Students are not just hurting other students but now they’re aiming for teachers, so what comes next? I am afraid that students will start hurting their teachers for assigning a hard assignment or giving them a bad grade for something. Students are looking for the simplest and silliest reasons to harm others.

I just can not believe that eight and nine years olds can come up with such a plan, over something so ridiculous. Have these kids never been disciplined at home or something? Plotting to hurt the teacher because she scolded one of them for standing on a chair. Where do these kids get the idea that trying to keep order in the class room is crazy? How did they decide that no teacher had the right to ‘scold’ a student? I feel like something might not be right for some of those students in their home environment. Such as not being disciplined and possibly being told the teacher has no right telling them what to do. Maybe or maybe not. I still however, can not understand where they get the idea on how to actually execute this very detailed plan. The only thing I can think of is television.
