“Cell phones and virtual worlds morphing shopper ways”

This is a really odd eye-popping topic, but I can definitely see many evolving technologies happening with communications. Every year it seems America, the UK, if not more of Japan are creating all these weird James Bond gadgets. Cell phones with bar code scanners would be the oddest thing I’ve ever known, but it would work.

Another great side to this is actually involving the online shoppers to no longer drive to shop, but stay at home and shop online in a virtual mall. “These technologies are going to change the way you interact with your customer, they're going to change the way people shop, they're going to change the way you manage your brands,” said Giff Constable, general manager at Electric Sheep Co, which designs content for virtual worlds, like Second Life (www.news.yahoo.com).” I wonder how business would actually handle this online and in reality, would it be easier on gas and traffic? There could be so many changes challenging this new idea.

As an American shopper myself, I take a trip to Great Lakes Crossing every other week and wouldn’t you know I would find the ultimate thing to buy and end up coming back later for it. I think cell phones are a handy dandy tool for this, because we carry them all the time and this would definitely be a positive effect not only for the customers but selling for the stores and their merchandise.
