Don't ask, don't tell is bad policy for cloned food

I believe it would be very wrong if there was a "don't ask, don't tell" policy for cloned foods. I agree with the over 50% of Americans who would prefer to not buy cloned meat, milk, cheese and other products. The article says the cloned grapes are used in creating wines, this is something I did not know and I believe that many consumers are most likely not aware of either. There is no biological way to tell the difference between cloned and un-cloned foods but I still believe there should me labels marking anything made by cloning. The food will be made from an artificial twin, even if it is an exact copy and no alterations genetically I believe there should be some kind of marking on cloned goods.

The use of cloning will simply be abused as a way to produce cheaper goods for companies. While it may lower the cost of goods sold to consumers as well I do not believe that many people will buy cloned foods. The cloning of foods should not be used to just try and lower the cost for consumer or business goods but instead they should use it to help countries who are in need of food and other products that could be made from the new advances of cloning.

My first thought about cloned food was that I really don't care. If people aren't getting sick from it then it's fine for me. But then after thinking about it for a minute I guess it would at least be nice to know what you're eating. You never know, 20 years from now the FDA might find that there is a side-effect from the cloned food. At least that way I can only blame myself for eating the stuff.
In my opinion organic is great, but I'm not going to go all crazy about it and make it my life goal to only eat organic. I think it's funny when you hear about people who are really strict about eating organic food, and then they go out and get plastered on the weekends.... ummm what do they think is in their drink?
It'd be nice to know what food is cloned or not, but it's not on my list of things that are important to me.

Just reading part of the article made me cringe. Our food products are being cloned? I really had no idea. I would most defiantly have to agree that there should be some warning that we are eating cloned products. Our companies should not be going off the, don’t ask don’t tell policy. I can’t believe people are willing to not tell the public important information, in my opinion, just to earn some extra cash. Have we really come to that? Personally I feel like there has to be something wrong with that. I feel like it only makes sense for countries that are struggling with famine. Is it really necessary for us to be cloning animals, and other things for food? I only feel like it would be necessary if there was and extreme shortage.
