Yao Mings Injury

Yao Ming will miss the remainder of the season and a potential playoff run with a stress fracture in his left foot, Houston general manager Daryl Morey revealed on Tuesday.
The Rockets' six-time All-Star is expected to be sidelined about four months with rehabilitation to follow. "It's obviously a difficult day for our organization and our fans," Morey said. "We've been playing exceptional ball. Yao's been a huge part of that."
The injury is a stunning setback for a team that had climbed back into contention in the Western Conference playoff race. I wonder how did Yao Ming get a stress fracture in his left foot? I think he was being worried about his family alot and misses it over there for months. But i think he had that injury for about a few years now. Yeah he did. So i think that he was very brave for that for having that injury that long and didn't tell anyone about and stayed in the game and trying to lead his team on to the playoffs for about 2 years in a row, i think thats was pretty cool of him that he did that. I know the team is going to miss him for helping them get that far with about 13 winning games straight without losing. So they better do something fast because they are not going to have him for 4 months. But overall, i think he missed his family and country when he first came to the NBA that first year and was struggling through stress.www.nba.com

It is never a good thing to see when a professional player gets hurt. Yet it has shown in the past with post in the NBA that they are more likely to get hurt. Bill Russell got hurt, Gheorghe Muresan. Both of these men were over 7 foot tall and they both had their careers ended by injuries.
This injury hurts me more than the other two did because I had yao on my fantasy team. He is consistently getting 22 points and 10 rebounds. He is really coming into his all star state and proving himself as one of the most dominant centers in the NBA.

Yao has been one of my favorite players these past years and this injury is a huge setback for him. Yao Ming has grown into an incredible talent, seemingly carrying an entire country on his shoulders and doing so with class. Now he will miss the rest of the Rockets’ solid season and maybe more importantly for him, the Beijing Olympics. Not to say that I expect Team China to make any big noise in Olympic basketball, but I’m sure Yao was excited to play for his home country. I hope this doesn’t spell the beginning of the end and constant season ending injuries for Yao.
