Fidel Castro resigns as Cuba's president
Finally announced (Yahoo News) that Fidel Castro is officially resigning from his 81st year today as Cuba's president, "ending a half-century of autocratic rule which made him a communist icon and a relentless opponent of U.S. policy around the globe."
I mean Wow, it's about time people of Cuba have a little strength and comback if at all. President Bush only hopes that it is all about democratic transition, he does not believe that it may fall under another Castro.
I wonder what Cuba is overlooking, as of this moment Cubans are unaware of Castro's wishes. The news was basically heard of over the internet and the people are now mixed with much sadness but hope for new beginings.
Bush believes that this will give liberties and true democracy and at the same time if Cuba stays in poverty, people will suffer. Castro's a dictator, has been in power since 1959- its about time for change and freedom for the people of Cuba.

Fidel stepped down but his brother is stepped up. its a win lose situation. his brother is worse then Fidel. Im sure that his brother will make more people suffer and im sure there are going to be problems in the future. It would be like if hitler having a brother and he took over there would be another holocaust. well it might not be that extreme but still its not a good situation.

Fidel's brother has been in power for like the last two years. Fidel has been really sick so he has just been sitting in the background. So in all actuality there is no change to the people in Cuba, all that has really changed is the name that is written in our history books. Cuba has been in state of chaos and it will take more than one man to turn it around, we need to stop metaling in their affairs and let them sort out their problems like big boys.
