Tiger Woods' talent is challenged
Ian Poulter, a very outspoken professional golfer, caused quite a stir the day before the Dubai Desert Classic, when he said that he was “the only player capable of challenging the supremacy of world number one Tiger Woods.” In March he was quoted in Golf World magazine, “the trouble is I don't rate anyone else," said the 32 year old Brit.
Poulter is ranked number 22 in the world and has won seven European tours. "Don't get me wrong, I really respect every professional golfer, but I know I haven't played to my full potential and when that happens, it will be just me and Tiger."
He was asked by Golf World magazine who he thought would win the first major of the U.S. Masters in April and his response was “put Tiger down for that one”, then he as asked who would the second major at the U.S. Open and his response was “put me down for that one.”
Poulter is a member of Europe’s 2004 Ryder Cup team at Oakland Hills, he is also known for his very colorful clothing options and his vocal opinion.
"Tiger is one in a million," he said. "Actually Tiger is one in 10 million.”
"He is extraordinary. If you look at the rankings he is almost two and a half times better than the guy in second place Phil Mickelson."
