Marion Jones relay teammates stripped of medals

Teammates of disgraced American Olymic Champion Marion Jone's paid the price for her use of banned substances when they were stripped of the relay medals they won at the 2000 Sydney games on Thursday. The executive board of the International Olymic Committee (IOC) ruled that the U.S. teams that won gold in the 4x400 meters and bronze in the 4x100 would lose their medals after Jones admitted she had used steroids in 2000. "The United States Olympic Committee (USOC) will be asked to return the medals and certificates," IOC spokeswoman Giselle
Davis told a news conference. "The IOC acknowledges that the three other atheletes have paid the price for Marion Jone's quilt." Jones, was the first woman to win five athletics medals, three of them gold, at a single olymics, had already been stripped of her medals. Jearl Miles-Clark, Monique Hennagan and LaTasha Colander won the 4x400 meters with Jones while Chryste Gaines, Torri Edwards and Nanceen Perry placed third in the 4x100 in Sydney. That's ashame that had to happen to the other girls after all that hard work they had to take part in with their medals been taking away because of Marion Jones stuppidness. I wonder are they still talking to her.

I think this is stupid. Why should her teammates be punished for what she did. They still worked their hardest and they might have been able to win the race without her and with another female on the team. I mean they did not use steroids why should they have all of their medals they earned stripped away from them.

This is like saying that if a team wins a world series with one person on their team that takes steroids; you should take their championship away. It was not just Jones who won the race why take all the other medals away. Why not just take them from her?
